Samir Nizam

Samir is a local entrepreneur with diversified business interests both domestic and abroad. Internationally, he has primarily conducted business in the Middle East for nearly half a century.

Samir worked with Grumman International, G.E., Shell, Tecumsch Compressors, and Lucent, among plenty of other multinational companies.

From 1980 to 1990, Samir worked on various projects in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Qatar, and Oman. Samir also supervised the development of a pre-fab housing project at Jebel Ali port, and was involved in a desalination project at a power plant in Saudi Arabia.

In 1991, after the first Gulf War, Samir moves to Kuwait where he worked on many development projects, and was involved in the recruitment of companies to put out oil fires.

In 1996, Samir founded Invesco Affiliates, a private equity firm which invested in real estate and startup projects in the United States and Middle East.

Samir holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Industrial Development from Stony Brook University. Furthermore, Samir speaks English, Arabic, French, and German.
