Dr. Scheidt is currently Director of Economic Development and an Adjunct Assistant Professor, Department of Technology and Society, at Stony Brook University. She also holds such prestigious positions as Chair of the Business Incubator Association of New York State and Vice Chair of the Community Development Corporation of Long Island. In the immediate past, Dr. Scheidt held the position of President of the Women Economic Developers of Long Island, Co-executive Director of the Long Island Angel Network, both Director of the Hauppauge Industrial Association and Co-chair of the HIA Business Development Committee, Trustee of the Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency, and Director of Long Island High Technology Incubator. In addition, she is currently Chair of the Tenant Selection and Review Committee for Stony Brook University Incubator Programs, and is on the Board of Advisors for Long Island Metro Business Action. Dr. Scheidt is also the Founder of the Stony Brook DARE Student Entrepreneurship Competition.
Dr. Scheidt graduated AB magna cum laude from Brown University and received a M.A.T. in English from Yale University. She received her Ph.D. in History of American Foreign Relations at Stony Brook University.
